The Moroccan-born Sofia Pernas moved to California when she was just 5 years old. She was raised living in Orange County. In 2015, she graduated from the University of California San Diego and got her first break acting. Pernas had a few guest appearances on NCIS as well as Leverage, before securing her role as Marisa on The Young and the Restless. The actress, who quit on the show in 2016, landed the role as Catalina in the role of a regular on Jane the Virgin.
