Alison Maria Krauss was born in July 1971. Alison is an American bluegrass singer and country musician. Her first job was in the business of music at a very young age. at the age of 10 years old, she took part in local contests, and then recorded her debut album. In 1985, she signed with Rounder Records and in 1987 released her debut solo album. She was then invited to join Alison Krauss Union Station, the band she currently performs with. Her first album as a collective with this band was released in 1989.
