Tom Selleck-2American actor Thomas William Selleck. His most famous role was that of Thomas Magnum, a private investigator in the television series Magnum, P.I. He was nominated for five Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor In a Drama Series (1980-1988) and took home the Emmy Award in 1985. From 2010 until the year 2010, Selleck has been the New York City Police Chief Frank Reagan. Since 2005, he has played the role of Jesse Stone, a troubled police chief in small-town New York City. In addition, he has appeared in nine television movies which are based on Robert B. Parker novels. Selleck has also played the character as Peter Mitchell, a bachelor architect in Three Men and a Baby (1987) and Three Men and a Little Lady (90). In addition to his roles in Magnum, P.I., Selleck has appeared in more than 50 movies and TV shows, including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball and Lassiter. He was a frequent television actor, playing Monica Geller's lover, Dr. Richard Burke, on Friends; Lance White, the attractive, unassuming companion on The Rockford Files; and as A.J., the casino owner. He also played the part in the lead role on the television western The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran as well as a spokesperson for the National Rifle Association (NRA), an endorser in advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
